“… technical rather than artistic knowledge …”
Not all works need planning consent but most require building regulations approval which considers things like structural safety, heat retention, moisture resistance, fire safety and public health. These regulations change frequently usually bringing additional cost to the building process. To produce this type of drawing requires technical rather than artistic knowledge which is not something an architect is really trained for. Often they tend to give this aspect of the work to lesser qualified building draughtsmen, architectural technologists or architectural technicians and problems can then arise. Due to the training and experience of our staff, and because we know the building inspectors well, we are very good in producing the information needed for these applications and get approvals every time. We prepare the drawings and application forms and then submit to the Council as your “agent”, and oversee the application for you.
